A little preface for ya on this poem: It was inspired by an impromptu stroll I decided to take one day that led me into a large forested area. Those who know me also know that I am a lover of nature and grew up surrounded by the woods. Living in Ayvaçik has been wonderful in many ways, but it is a city and therefore, does not have much scenic nature to enjoy. It was completely by the Lord’s guidance that I happened to come upon the place I did. It was so sweet of Him to lead me to an area that He knew would delight my soul and give me peace. The following is me capitalizing on my creative mind stream that was flowing as I was wandering. It portrays my individual thoughts and senses as I walked through what felt like a bit of home brought to me here in Türkiye. Hope you all enjoy this short story of my woodland experience!:)

Woodland:

I have wandered into a wood today
With no path or destination in mind.
There are no reservations about my way
Wandering amongst the trees
Seeing what there is to find.

While being guided by a warm breeze
And honey-glow rays,
I come across a keep of honeybees.
For company I have two street pups
Who are lazily at play.
This great release of nature all around
Is filling a deep need of mine today.

As my muddied path grows steeper
I wonder if the time to turn back is now,
Or do I dare to go a bit deeper?
For in every path there comes a divide
Be it in man’s mind or wooded trail,
Where we must all choose which side to abide.
For now my curiosity overtakes me
And I decide to hop the brook in my way.
Here I am now roaming free
While conscious of a possible price to pay.

Either way, I’ve made my decision to cross
If consequence is what comes next,
Then it can find me here amongst the moss.

Where Lord are you calling me
In this natural wooded grove?
For you know I cannot resist the lure
Of this lush forest
Towards which my heart was drove.

If God plants our steps
I’m not sure where mine lead.
Even if this wandering has no purpose
I am content in you fulfilling my need.

Ah now I see I’m here to sit.
Be still, and take it all in.

Although being stationary
Naturally leaves me defiant,
I’m noting every hint of warm sun
Creeping in through the pined giants.

Every hymnal of winged creatures
Who have no need of a conductor.
You have brought me into Eden’s solitude
To find delight in You, my protector.

In turning around
I have no clue where I am going
All I know is Heaven’s beside me,
And excitement is in the unknowing.

Hey guys, welcome to my blog! I am ecstatic to share with you the raw and real ways God has been moving on the field, and all the transformational ways my heart has changed in the midst of experiencing it. A short background update: I am a 23 yr old born and raised in Bluffton, IN. I have a rowdy, outdoor lovin\' family with 2 younger brothers and 2 younger sisters along with my parents, Trout and Lisa. I graduated from Grace College right before the race with a B.S. in communication and intercultural studies. Some of my favorite things are horseback riding, snowboarding, solemn skiing and anything outdoors. I am thrilled that we have this platform to express all the wild stories from the field. My prayer is that hearts will be moved by the testimonials shared on here, and that it gives all my readers a better glimpse at the amazing God I serve. If at any time you have questions or a concern that you would wish to discuss after reading, please feel free to email me at [email protected]. I want this to be a space for open dialogue and discussion, because some of the things that happen out here are hard to comprehend. Even for me if I\'m being honest. Thank you to everyone who has supported me thus far on my journey. I can\'t wait to see how our sovereign Father will continue to work. Much Love, Tris
